Project Connect Nashville Vacation Bible School:
Sights:
- The sight of kids playing with each other
- The sight of the run-down apartment complex where the kids lived
Smells:
- The smell of trash cans overflowing
Touch:
- The touch of the children holding our hands
- The feeling of the scorching hot sun beating down on us
Taste:
- The taste of the lunches we packed earlier
Hear:
- The sound of all the kids laughing and having a good time
- The sound of constant sirens passing by
Second Harvest:
Sights:
- The sight of aisles of boxes piled high
Smells:
- The smell of cardboard boxes being built
Touch:
- The feel of all the cans of soup being packed into boxes and carried away
Hear:
- The sounds of constant motion as volunteers package thousands of pounds of food
- The beeps of the forklifts carrying away pallets of food
Taste:
- The taste of cool bottled water handed out to the volunteers
The Bridge
Sights:
- The sight of people serving food to hundreds of Nashville’s homeless.
- The sight of homeless and volunteers gathered together to worship God
Smells:
- The smell of food being cooked
Taste:
- The taste of cool water going down our parched throats
Touch:
- The touch of paper plates filled with food being passed out
Hear:
- The sound of everyone worshipping
- The sound of all the stories being told
Ask The Lord
Sights:
- The sight of dream-like visions from God
- The sights of seeing those visions come to pass in real life
Smells:
- The smell of sweat dripping down bodies while walking around
Taste:
- The taste of sweet tea from Whitt’s Barbeque
Touch:
- The touch of shaking a person’s hand
Hear:
- The sound of people talking about their encounters with others
