Monday night, we worked alongside a homeless ministry that feeds about 200 people in downtown Nashville once a week.
Typically, this group just prepares and distributes a meal, but the leader of the group asked us to complete a special mission. He wanted us to write letters to the homeless people that we could share with them after the meal.
We prayed before writing anything down and asked the Lord to give us words of encouragement and Scripture passages, etc. for the specific people who would receive our letters.
After we finished our letters, we listened to the leader of People Loving Nashville describe the ministry and set our expectations.
Then we spent several hours on the street, meeting people, sharing socks and toothpaste with them after their meals. We worked hard to start conversations and build realtionships. As we got ready to leave, we prayerfully shared our letters with people and saw God work in some amazing ways…
