God always knows exactly what we need and He shows up in His perfect timing to provide for us in ways far greater than we can ask or think. On Monday of this week, Faith Fellowship Church – Cincinnati’s youth group split in two groups – one went to serve at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore warehouse and the other went downtown to the Bicentennial Mall area to do what we call an ATL Treasure Hunt. ATL, which stands for Ask the Lord, is all about coming into agreement with what Abba would like to bring forth in and through the team on a particular day. We believe that people are God’s treasure, that He has specific people He would like the team to interact with, and that we should ask Him for clues to find His treasure. The following is part of 14 years old Reagan’s experience.
“So today was a very interesting day for me. At the beginning if the day I spent a lot of time praying to God about finding someone who I could connect with. I prayed that I would find a musician because I know a lot about music so I would easily be able to connect with them, and then hopefully, be able to share my faith.
When we arrived at the I saw people sitting on benches, people walking, people eating. But I didn’t see any musicians. So at this point I was a little doubtful but I still knew that there was something or someone that God was going to put in my path. After talking to God for a little while I got my courage back and I was ready for anything that God would put in my path.
My group and I went throughout the day talking and praying for many people but I still knew there was something more. Then my group and I walked up to a lady and started talking to her. It turned out that her family had lost three family members within three months. As I talked with her I was able to feel her pain and understand because I had lost my Grandpa in October. After I had gotten done praying for her I realized how I didn’t ask for God to bring that part of my life into what we were doing, but it was what what I needed. It was really cool how my expectations were flipped by God, and how He supplied for me what I didn’t know I needed.”
